My inspiration

This artwork is in memory of all those lazy, warm evenings spent at the local beach, walking the dog and paddling in the surf. The Spoilbank enjoys the WA sunset so as dusk approaches, the crashing waves are no longer white - as they are in the midday sun - but instead take on a vivid mix of oranges and lilacs from the nocturnal sky. I used a mix of techniques, heavily blending the sky and background water to create a subtle transition of colours and a looser drawing style for the foreground wave.  As a result, the salt is illuminated further by its surroundings.
